
Robotics is breaking out of the niche markets it had been shunted too, promising to grow to $30 billion by 2016, according to a new report from Research and Markets.
The significant expansion is mainly due to explosive growth in commercially viable professional services able to be provided by robots, as well as increased usage by the military and security industries, in addition to robotics’ traditional strengths in manufacturing, medicine, surgery, planetary exploration, and the handling of hazardous materials.
